Join us for an evening of good music and good company. Mr. Lawless comes with a loyal and fun-loving following to give us a grand evening of singing and fun. Emergency Preparedness Meeting. Hubbard Hall, Thursday, August 15th at 4:30 p.m.

The recent Ridgecrest quakes were a bit of a wake-up call. The good news is that all the park homes have been required to have state-certified earthquake systems, so Valencia Lea is far less vulnerable than other parks in the are. But, that said, each resident needs to know how to prepare for and react to a quake when one occurs. Towards that end, CEO Chris Trevino will conduct a seminar on how to turn off your home’s utilities in the event of a catastrophe. You’ll learn how to identify and operate your water, power, and gas utility shut-offs and you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that you have the ability to help yourself and your neighbors here at Valencia Lea in the event of a disaster. We’ll also cover some of the safety features available for your home to help minimize damage if indeed the ground begins to shake. So don;t miss this month’s Emergency Preparedness meeting, because it’s not a matter of if but when.

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert (with a stop at Sherman’s Deli on the return trip!) Wednesday, September 25th.

We will be able to take 28 people on this trip. The $67.00 cost includes transportation to and from the Living Desert, admission into the park, a 2-hour custom guided tour with Shuttle ride. On our way home, we’ll stop at the famous Sherman’s Deli in Palm Desert to enjoy one of their amazing sandwiches and something cool to drink (not included in trip price). Depart 7:30 a.m. Return 1:00 p.m. Payment due at time of sign up. Sign-up sheet will be at Hubbard Hall August 1st. First come, first serve! Please make your checks payable to Valencia Lea and put it in the rent drop box located in Hubbard Hall.

New York City Trip…  This is exciting, and we still have several spaces available!  With the help of Park Resident and in-house Travel Agent, Linda Popp, we are organizing a 6-day, 5-night trip to New York from October 24-29th, 2019.  All of the details will be explained in the presentation mentioned above.  Additionally, a travel brochure has been posted in Hubbard Hall if you’d like a few details prior to the presentation.  Some of the planned highlights include a harbor cruise to see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, a visit to the 9/11 memorial, two Broadway shows located near your hotel, The Sheraton of Times Square. Sign up in the Hubbard Hall clubhouse!

Candlelight Pavilion – The Bells of Christmas… Saturday, December 22nd. 

Keep this on your calendars. We currently have 25 people signed up for this event, but there’s room for 3 more, so if you would like to go, it is not too late. Nothing better than a holiday musical that includes incredible food and friends! The cost of this trip will be $86.00, which will include your entire meal, the Holiday Musical Program and bus transportation to and from Valencia Lea. We will be leaving Hubbard Hall by 10:00 a.m. and will be returning by 3:00 p.m. Sign-up sheet at Hubbard Hall. Payment due at the time of sign up.
